The Roane County Board of Zoning denied a request last night from Jeffrey Caudill to reclassify property on Old Johnston Valley Road where the old Cedar Grove Baptist Church is located. He wanted to put a drug rehabilitation center there, and that came with supporters and opponents speaking in the meeting.

Several citizens agreed there is a need for the facility but the area surrounding the church might not be the best place. Many were worried about their property values dropping and how the facility would transform the neighborhood.
