$1.5 MILLION IN STEM GRANTS AWARDED TO LOCAL AND AREA SCHOOLS
The Tennessee Valley Authority, in partnership with Bicentennial Volunteers Inc., is awarding a record $1.5 million in grants to educators in public schools to develop science, technology, engineering, and math education projects across the Tennessee Valley region. The STEM grants will be awarded to 343 public schools across 7 states.
Grants up to $5,000 were awarded in a competitive process, and preference was given to grant applications that explored TVA’s primary areas of focus: environment, energy, economic development, and community problem-solving.
Local and area schools receiving the grants include Cumberland County High School, North Cumberland Elementary School, Pine View Elementary School, Algood Middle School, Bledsoe County High School, Livingston Middle School, York Elementary School, and White County Middle School.
