The Sumner County EMA reports that one person died and one person is seriously injured after a plane crash Tuesday night. According to officials, the small plane went down just after 7:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Airport Road. Both passengers were airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. One of them has since died at the hospital.  The FAA said the plane was approaching the runway when it crashed. Police gave no additional information about the identity of the passengers or the cause of the crash. Both the FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
