I-75 SOUTHBOUND SHUT DOWN DURING TRACTOR-TRAILER FIRE IN LOUDON COUNTY

Officials say I-75 southbound in Loudon County was shut down early this morning for a vehicle fire involving a commercial vehicle hauling non-hazardous materials.

The Loudon County Sheriff’s Office, Loudon County Fire and Rescue, and Tennessee Highway Patrol all responded to the scene near Exit 68.

Motorists had to seek alternate routes as crews battled the blaze and later cleared the scene.

Troopers say one lane was opened at the scene just before 4 a.m. this morning.

A full report of the incident will be released later by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
