17-YEAR-OLD LOSES LIFE IN DIRT BIKE CRASH

A 17-year-old lost their life in an off-road dirt bike accident last week in Anderson County. Authorities responded to the scene in the Heiskell Community about 3 PM last Wednesday. Preliminary reports revealed that the teen, whose identity was not released, had been riding a Kawasaki bike on the back property in the 5500 block of Hickory Valley Road. Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers say the juvenile lost control of his ride on pine needles and crashed head-on into a tree. The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. The teen later died after being airlifted to UT Medical Center.
