2 IN RHEA COUNTY ARRESTED FOR TENNCARE FRAUD
Two Rhea County residents have been charged with TennCare fraud. The Office of Inspector General, with the assistance of the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office, have arrested 34-year-old Dana Trantham of Spring City and 37-year-old Troy Jones of Dayton. Trantham is charged with TennCare fraud and obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Trantham is accused of changing the quantity of pills prescribed on a valid prescription for the narcotic Norco, which is a form of the painkiller Hydrocodone. Jones is charged with three counts of fraudulently using TennCare to obtain the painkillers Hydrocodone and Oxycodone by doctor shopping. TennCare fraud is a Class D felony punishable by up to four years in prison.
