One person was injured in a head-on collision in Cumberland County Friday morning. Preliminary reports are that the crash occurred in the 9900 block of Highway 127 North (Rinnie/Isolene) at 6:20 AM. Details are sketchy at this time however emergency personnel had to extricate a 35-year-old female from Grimsley from the wreckage. She was airlifted by Lifestar to UT Medical Center for treatment of severe leg injuries. A 43-year-old male involved in the wreck reportedly refused transport to the hospital. The accident closed down both directions of the roadway for several hours. A report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol will be forthcoming.
