More information has been released on the multi-vehicle accident which took place Friday afternoon in Crossville on Genesis Rd. According to police, a 1997 Ford Mustang driven by Gary Joe Almonrode of Crossville and a 2006 Ford Esplanade driven by 17-year-old Chelsea Vanessa Lawson of Crossville, were traveling east on Genesis Rd at Village Way. According to witnesses, Lawson’s vehicle had slowed in the traffic lane when Almonrode, coming from the rear, swerved to miss the vehicle. Almonrode’s vehicle crossed the double line and struck an oncoming 2004 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 53-year-old Nancy Colleen Guy. Guy’s vehicle ran off the side of the roadway, rolling and coming to rest on its’ top. Almonrode had to be extricated from the wreckage. Both he and Guy were transported to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries. There were no other injuries reported.
