A Cumberland County child had to be airlifted to an area trauma center following a pedestrian vs. vehicle incident Sunday. Sheriff Casey Cox told 1057 News that the accident happened at a residence on Locksley Circle off Lincolnshire Drive. Sheriff Cox said that a relative driving a vehicle was backing up and accidentally struck the 2-year-old girl. No names have been revealed. The child was airlifted by medical helicopter to UT Medical Center for treatment. Reports were that the youth was alert and crying at the time. Sources say that she is expected to be alright.
