$2,000 RADIO CHARGER PROTOTYPE STOLEN IN CROSSVILLE
On January 20, 2026, Officer Justin Farmer of the Crossville Police Department responded to a theft report at West Avenue. The complainant reported that a blue prototype radio charger valued at $2,000 had been stolen from a tree on his property. Video surveillance captured a male and female trespassing from the CF Storehouse parking lot, with the male seen taking the item.
Officer Farmer identified the suspect as Carl Clem, noting that Clem had been officially banned from the adjacent storehouse property just one year prior.
Later that evening, Officer Farmer located Mr. Clem in a wooded area off Iris Lane. After being advised of his Miranda Rights, Clem admitted to trespassing and taking the charger, though he claimed to be unsure of its current location. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Justice Center, where he was charged with Theft and Criminal Trespassing.
Although Clem suggested the prototype might be located along a fence line near Keyes Street, a follow-up search by the officer was unsuccessful.
