3 CHARGED WITH OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE DURING WARRANTS CHECK

Three people were charged with obstructing justice at a Harriman home Saturday in reference to a warrants check. Deputies arrived at 3743 Sugar Grove Valley Road and were reportedly told by 59-year-old Myra D. Frederick that the person they were looking for, 39-year-old Robin Joey Gorth, was not on the premises. Another subject at the home, 76-year-old Donald Zirkle Byrd, also told officers that neither Gorth or his son, 40-year-old George Donald Byrd, were at the residence. Later, officers encountered George Byrd in the kitchen, and he also allegedly told them that Gorth was not at the residence. In a consent search of the home, Gorth was later found hiding in a closet. At that time, Donald Byrd began to get combative with officers. He was warned and later handcuffed in order to come into compliance with deputies.  Gorth was served three warrants and taken into custody while Frederick, Donald Byrd and George Byrd were taken into custody and charged with resisting stop, halt frisk and obstructing service of process.
