93-YEAR-OLD FOUND LOCKED IN FAIRFIELD GLADE MALL

On March 1, Fairfield Glade deputies observed a silver passenger car traveling southbound on Peavine with an expired registration. When conducting a traffic stop, the man driving the car stated his mother was missing.

He told deputies that he had dropped off his mother at the Village Green Mall while he utilized a nearby walking trail. He returned to the mall and found that it was closed. The man stated it had been about an hour since he had last seen his mother. He told deputies he had been looking for her for about thirty minutes and then headed home in case she got a ride with someone. However, she was nowhere to be found.

The woman was identified as 93-year-old Anne Bjork. After getting a description of the woman, other deputies were dispatched to help locate her.

Approximately ten minutes later, Fairfield Glade deputies located Anne inside the mall where she was unable to unlock the door. After deputies were able to obtain the key, they verified that Anne was okay, she just stated she was hungry.

The man was written a citation for the expired tag and was able to get his mother and take her home.
