MORE DETAILS RELEASED ON TRIPLE FATALITY IN ROCKWOOD

Additional information has been released on the multi-fatality crash which happened in Rockwood Friday. Around 4 PM, a Chevy Impala with four occupants heading north on Kingston Avenue, left the roadway, careened over a culvert and struck a tree head-on. The driver, 38-year-old Billy Grant of Rockwood, was killed, along with 14-year-old Malachi Thomas who was in the rear seat. A front seat passenger, 32-year-old Amanda Lynn Curry, was airlifted to UT Medical Center, where she passed away Saturday. Another rear seat passenger, 14-year-old Garrett Pitt, was sent to a local hospital for minor injuries and released. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
