ROCKWOOD, ROANE COUNTY AUTHORITIES LEVEL MULTIPLE CHARGES AGAINST MAN

Early this morning, Rockwood police brought 26-year-old Ronald Warren Bishop into the Roane County Detention Facility following an arrest during a traffic stop.

Roane County deputies asked Bishop whether he had any kind of contraband on him; he replied he did not. During a strip search, deputies found a plastic baggie hidden in Bishop’s intergluteal cleft, which he removed and handed to deputies. The baggie contained 15.56 grams of a crystalline substance believed to be meth.

In addition to existing charges of driving on expired plates, non-compliance with financial-responsibility laws, driving on a revoked or suspended license, failure to appear, two counts of aggravated robbery, theft of property $2,500 to $9,999 and theft of property $10,000 to $59,999, Bishop was charged with manufacture, delivery, sale or possession of meth, introduction of intoxicants or drugs into a penal institution.

The suspected methamphetamine was entered into evidence to be submitted to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Crime Laboratory for analysis.
