VEHICLE THEFT LANDS WOMAN IN JAIL ON THEFT, METH CHARGES

Monday, Cumberland County deputies responded to a home on Ocalala Trail in Lake Tansi, for a stolen Chevy Avalanche. The owner also said a woman who was at the home when he went to bed was also gone. He said he strongly suspects she took the vehicle.

The subject vehicle was later spotted on Peavine Road, at Old Peavine Road. The driver, identified as 33-year-old Lesleigh Michelle Haun, was taken into custody. K-9 officer Niko was deployed and alerted to the presence of a narcotic odor. A search turned up two baggies containing meth residue.

Haun admitted having taken the vehicle, stating she didn’t think the owner would mind. She said she also took $60 from him while he was asleep. Haun was charged with theft and manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of meth. She was placed under $7,000 bond and is due in court March 18.
