Monday evening the Roane County Board of Education began interviewing candidates for the vacant Director of Schools position. Interviewing continued through Wednesday at the central office, 105 Bluff Road in Kingston. The number of candidates could be narrowed down to just a few following this first round of interviews.

The regular board meeting is set for 7 p.m. Thursday, when the teachers of the year will be announced. That meeting will be at the main office complex in Kingston.
