At the Harriman City Council meeting Tuesday night, Mayor Wayne Best said he wants the council to look at their role as committee members and keep him and others informed about what’s going on within the city.

The council voted its approval of spending $6,100 on a new heating and air-conditioning system for the second floor of a building beside the Princess Theater in downtown Harriman, to be used as a trailhead information office and museum for the city. The council also approved maintaining its contract with the Roane County Animal Shelter for housing animals that brought in from the city.
