ONE-MAN CRIME SPREE ENDS WITH ARREST; MULTIPLE CHARGES EXPECTED

Oliver Springs police have wrapped up an investigation of multiple crimes perpetrated by one individual in less than three days’ time. Investigators took 22-year-old Marcus Lively of Oliver Springs into custody for vehicle theft, two business burglaries – at Oscar’s Market on East Tri County Boulevard and Ginger’s Market in Briceville – and a home burglary.

Lively admitted he stole a vehicle from an East Tri County Boulevard address, drove to Frost Bottom and committed a break-in, during which he stole two firearms. From there, he then drove to Ginger’s Market, from which he stole the cash register, beer and cigarettes. He then returned to Oliver Springs, drove the stolen vehicle into a field on Old Batley Road and torched it.

Two days later, Lively entered Oscar’s Market by breaking the glass in the front door and stole the cash-register drawer.

Officers recovered the cash-register drawer where Lively said he’d left it. At Lively’s home were a .22 caliber pistol from the Frost Bottom burglary, another pistol, various tools from the auto theft and two trail cameras.
