A brief vehicle chase between a motorist and a Cumberland County deputy ended with an arrest. The report indicates an officer recently clocked 20-year-old Colten Lane Akins of Crossville in a Chevy Camaro going 66 miles per hour on Genesis Road near Stone Memorial High School. The officer turned around and allegedly saw Akins pass a vehicle on a double yellow line. That is when the deputy activated his lights and sirens to pull Akins over. Akins reportedly continued on Genesis Road but the officer lost sight of him. Akins was later located at a home on Eldridge Loop. He was charged with reckless endangerment and evading arrest.
