MAN ARRESTED IN CROSSVILLE FOR CHASING AFTER SCHOOL CHILDREN

A man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly yelling and chasing children trying to get on a school bus. According to the report, officers were summoned to Malver Drive where a woman told them that she was driving to the end of the street to drop her child off for the bus, when four children came running at her screaming. She could see a male subject yelling and walking after them. She loaded the children into her car, when the man, identified as 48-year-old Kelly D. Bilbrey, hit the car’s glass. She was able to get away from the suspect. Later, when police tried to make contact with Bilbrey at his home, he ran inside into a bedroom and locked the door. Eventually officers were able to talk Bilbrey out of the room but he continued to act in an aggressive manner towards officers and had to be handcuffed. He was charged with assault by intimidation, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
