CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPUTIES CHARGE MAN TWICE IN 2 WEEKS

Cumberland County Deputies again have cited a suspect with drug charges within two weeks of a previous arrest. On January 27, deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office were patrolling Browntown Road when a vehicle was observed at a vacant residence. The vehicle was stopped and the suspect identified as 45-year-old Barry K. Lail, of Robin Hood Drive. Lail became evasive during questioning and after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody. Confiscated in the arrest was a .40 handgun, 5.7 grams of meth, two large knives, a wooden club and $1935 in cash. A 2001 Chevy Camaro was also seized. Lail was charged with Manufacture, Delivery and Sale of Methamphetamine, Unlawful possession of a weapon, driving while restricted, simple possession, resisting arrest, and driving while in possession of methamphetamine. Lail was again stopped on Feb. 11after deputies saw him riding a motorcycle on Dunbar Rd. He was approached by officers at a convenience store and was again taken into custody after a brief foot pursuit. A 9mm pistol was taken from Lail along with Oxycodone pills, 26 grams of meth and $715 in cash. He faces several charges added to the original list of charges. The suspect has a court date of April 10, 2017, and bonds of $510,000.00.
