TWO ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGES IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY WITHIN AN HOUR OF EACH OTHER

Cumberland County deputies arrested two individuals on drug charges within an hour of each other last night in different incidents.

The first involved 28-year-old Matthew Jordan Lacey of Crossville after officers pulled him over for allegedly going 74 miles per hour in a 55 zone on Highway 70 West. A search allegedly revealed a total of just over 75 grams of an illegal drug. Lacey was charged with manufacture, sale and delivery of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The second arrest took place at a gas station on Westel Road. A deputy came into contact with the driver of a vehicle, 45-year-old Nicholas Jason Leach of Crab Orchard. A check revealed a revoked license status for Leach. The arrest report states the officer noticed fresh red markings on Leach’s arm consistent with IV drug use. A search allegedly revealed illegal drugs. Leach was arrested possession of heroin and simple possession of meth.
