HEAD-ON VEHICLE CRASH ON HIGHWAY 127 NORTH IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY INJURES TWO

A two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 127 North at Tabor Loop late yesterday sent two to the hospital. Trooper Bobby Barker says a 2009 Mercury Mariner driven by 69-year-old Joseph J. Szelesi of Jamestown, Tennessee failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line and struck an oncoming 2014 Chevy Captiva operated by 47-year-old Ginger Wright of Knoxville. Wright and a passenger in her car, 19-year-old William Wright of Knoxville, were both taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The report states Szelesi sustained minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital. He was charged with failure to maintain his lane of travel.
