CROSSVILLE POLICE ARREST WANTED KNOX COUNTY SEX OFFENDER

A wanted sex offender out of Knox County was apprehended in Crossville last Friday. Police went to Red Roof Inn for suspicious subjects leaving the premises. Officers received information that 46-year-old Candice Dawn Bowers and 42-year-old Michael Arthur Manford, both of Knoxville, headed toward the Obed River Bridge. Authorities found both in a tent in the woods. A check revealed Bowers was wanted on two counts of violating the sex offender registry and Manford for failure to appear in court on a theft charge. Both were taken into custody. Bowers was ordered onto the registry by a judge after her 2015 conviction for promoting prostitution.
