HIGH SPEED PURSUIT WITH MOTORCYCLIST ENDS WITH ARREST IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A high speed pursuit between a Cumberland County deputy and a motorcyclist ended around 3 a.m. Saturday with an arrest. The officer saw the rider, 40-year-old David Wade Smith of Chattanooga, coming off Fredonia Road turning onto Highway 127 North with a light law violation. The deputy attempted to stop Smith but the suspect took off traveling all over the road at times. The chase lasted 15 miles when Smith stopped. He was charged with reckless driving, evading arrest, and two drug violations.
