An oath of office ceremony was held in Cumberland County late yesterday afternoon for newly elected officials. County Mayor Allen Foster administered it to Assessor of Property Lori Lowe Powell, county commissioners Joe Sherrill and Colleen Mall as well as school board members Anita Hale, Chris King and Teresa Boston. Board of Education member Robert Safdie was not able to attend the ceremony and he will take part in the oath of office with the county mayor today (September 1, 2020).
