A head-on vehicle crash on Highway 127 North near the Woody area in Cumberland County late yesterday afternoon resulted in injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2017 Chevy Camaro driven by Frances N. Emerson of Crossville crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming 2010 Ford Mustang operated by 52-year-old Cynthia Helton of Monterey. Emerson had an 8-year-old female passenger inside the car. Both drivers were restrained at the time of impact. Air medical helicopters landed near the scene at North Cumberland Elementary School to transport them to an area trauma center. Troopers say charges are pending against Emerson.
