PEDESTRIAN HIT BY VEHICLE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Fairfield Glade Police Department responded to Food City parking lot off of Peavine Road yesterday for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. The report states 85-year-old Frances Fuentes was walking in between a parking isle when 59-year-old Michele L. Alfont of California was backing up and hit Fuentes causing her to strike the ground. Fuentes was transported to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
This makes the 8th pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Cumberland County so far this year.
“As the holiday season approaches, be especially mindful of increased vehicular and pedestrian traffic in store parking lots. Also remember take a few extra seconds to double check before backing and while traveling in congested parking lots,” said Fairfield Glade Police Chief Michael Williams.
