Cumberland County first responders went to the scene of a vehicle crash yesterday on the 1,300 block of Highway 70 East. The report states the driver, 65-year-old John Dewayne Casteell, wrecked the automobile and burnt through the driver’s side tire trying to get the Chevy unstuck from the ditch. A check revealed Casteell was wanted in Smith County for failure to appear for a DUI charge. Casteell was allegedly unsteady on his feet. Warrants were signed for him for driving under the influence and operating a vehicle on a revoked status.
