A vehicle accident turned into a hit and run on Highway 127 South this afternoon in Cumberland County. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 60-year-old William John Reed of Crossville was traveling north when he attempted to turn onto Old Mail Road and was hit by an unknown motorist in a Chevy HHR. The driver of the car then made a U-turn and fled the scene. Reed was wearing a helmet at the time of impact and was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment. The investigation continues into who was driving the Chevy and charges are pending.
