A distress text recently sent to an employee at a victim’s workplace in Cumberland County led law enforcement to an apartment on Shorty Barnes Road. Upon arrival, deputies found a woman in her 30’s tied to a couch. She told law enforcement she had no idea how she got that way and had been restrained for two days. Officers freed her and also removed a phone charging cord from around her neck. The incident is under investigation by the sheriff’s department.
