** HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION ***
Cookeville, TN – At approximately 4:00 PM on February 6, 2022, officers with the Cookeville Police Department responded to an apartment complex on West 12th Street regarding a welfare check. Once on scene, officers located 23-year-old Lyndzy Bounds of Cookeville unresponsive. Ms. Bounds was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives with the Cookeville Police Department initiated an investigation into this incident and determined that the death of Lyndzy Bounds was the result of a homicide. Shortly after the investigation began, the victim’s fiancée Christian Luna was identified as the suspect. After further investigation, a warrant for First Degree Murder was obtained for Mr. Luna.

During the early morning hours of February 7, 2022, detectives were notified that Mr. Luna was in custody in Carencro, Louisiana. Mr. Luna will be held in Louisiana until he is extradited back to Tennessee.
