MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT DURING POLICE CHASE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY RESULTS IN DEATH OF ROCKWOOD MAN
A Rockwood man was killed after he wrecked his motorcycle Monday afternoon along Highway 70 between Crab Orchard and Ozone. 30-year-old James Morris of Rockwood was being pursued by a Cumberland County Deputy on Highway 70 when he failed to negotiate a curve, running off the left side of the highway and slamming into a rocky embankment. Morris was transported to UT Medical Center in Knoxville where he succumbed to his injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident according to the THP report.Β Β The report did not give a reason as to why Morris was being pursued or the name of the County Deputy that was involved.
