Volunteer Electric is warning people of a phone scam. There have been reports of phone scams in which the scam caller offers to put your electric bill on a fixed rate for 24 months if you give them your credit/debit card number. This is a fraudulent call, and if you receive it, hang up and contact your local service center to verify the status of your account.
