MALE REPORTEDLY BARKED AT OFFICERS AFTER BEING DETAINED

Crossville, TN- Sunday evening around 6 PM, Crossville City officers were dispatched to Birchwood Lane in reference to a suspicious subject. The caller advised they witnessed a male wearing a black hooded jacket standing in the doorway of an apartment attempting to get inside.

When officers arrived on the scene, they located the male subject matching the description and identified him as 27-year-old Casey Hamby.  They observed him to have red watery eyes, slurred speech, unsteady on his feet, and smelled of alcohol. Mr. Hamby was also carrying around a grocery bag containing alcohol.

After a short struggle, Mr. Hamby was detained. While trying to transport him into custody, Mr. Hamby began to become aggressive and started to bark like a dog. It was reported that he would not listen to directions and would push himself toward officers when they were trying to secure a seatbelt.

Casey Hamby was transported to intake where he was charged with Public Intoxication and Resisting Arrest.
