Daniel R. Carter, age 70, of Rockwood passed away Thursday May 11, 2017. He was of the Church of Christ. Dan worked as a farmer and a coal miner for many years. He also owned and operated Triple C Trucking and Excavating. Aside from all of that, Dan was a proud member of the National Guard. He is survived by his wife: Frances Carter; sons: Charlie and Mendell; daughters: Angie Carter, Bonnie Carter and Catherine Carter; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother in law: Bill Jenkins; and a host of other family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends Sunday May 14, 2017 at Davis Funeral Home in Harriman from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will follow at 8 PM. The graveside service will be held Monday May 15, 2017 at 11 AM in the Millstone Cemetery. Davis Funeral Home in Harriman is in charge of arrangements.
