A citizen of Cumberland County in her mid-40s reported a scam yesterday to the sheriff’s office.

She told officers she found a black Ford F-150 on Facebook Marketplace.

She contacted the seller, who was reportedly preparing to be deployed overseas and could not find a place to store the truck.

The scammer told the victim to go to the 101 Market and pay $1,049 for the truck in bitcoins, which she did.

The scammer instructed her to make another transaction for $999 for processing fees, and she would get those fees back.

After completing both transactions, she realized she was a victim of a scam.

The report states the money went to a place in Massachusetts.
