Two sustained injuries yesterday after a vehicle crashed into the front of Weigel’s in Fairfield Glade.

The report from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office released today states a 2009 Ford Escape driven by 80-year-old Bruce Scott Parry of Crossville pulled into the front parking area for the store. Parry told officers his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator. The vehicle struck 48-year-old Jennifer Ann Spiegel of Crossville, who had come out of the store and was standing on the front sidewalk. The impact sent Spiegel through the store window and landed inside the business on the floor.

Medics transported Parry and Spiegel to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries.
