10 ABANDONED PUPPIES RESCUED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

Officers with Cumberland County Animal Control received a call Tuesday morning regarding ten abandoned puppies located on Byrds Creek Lane in a large storage tub.

Two officers responded and noticed a clear storage tub on its side with a blanket and t-shirt in it.

The report states six 2 to 3-month-old black and white, possibly border collie puppies were running around near the tub.

The officers attempted to catch them. The puppies fled deeper into a wooded area.

They placed fresh food near the tub, attempting to bring the puppies back to catch them.

They were able to retrieve all of the puppies, but not before one bit one of the officers on the finger, drawing blood.

The puppies were taken to the Cumberland County Animal Control.

The officer received medical treatment for the bite.
