DIRT TRACK RACER SCOTT BLOOMQUIST KILLED IN PLANE CRASH THIS MORNING

Dirt track racing star Scott Bloomquist, 60, was killed in a plane crash taking place near his home in Hawkins County in Mooresburg, TN this morning.
Reid Millard, a close friend, a fellow racer, and funeral director from Missouri, announced the news on Facebook.
“Scott Bloomquist was a great friend of mine along with a lot of people in the Dirt Late Model Model and racing community. His mother Georgie just called me and wanted me to announce that he lost his life this morning.
At 7:15 EST this morning Scott was out flying his vintage airplane and had a crash on the Bloomquist family farm.
The local fire department and law enforcement are still on the scene.”
Bloomquist held many accolades and victories over the years including more than 600 dirt late model feature wins, winner of 94 Lucas Oil Late Model and 33 World of Outlaws Late Model races, wins during the 2001 Dirt Weeks at Bristol Motor Speedway, and a victory in 2020 at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Knox Dale, Pennsylvania.
“Along with Scott’s daughter Ariel his parents his sister and along with all of you who knew and loved Scott – you are in our hearts and prayers of all our Millard Family,” said Millard. “God’s speed Scott. May you fly high on an Eagle’s wing forever.”
