On Saturday around 9:30 a.m., Officer Samantha Seay of the Crossville Police Department responded to the Highway 127 North area in response to a possible burglary report.

She made contact with the owner who stated that he intended to open a Mexican restaurant in the building within the next 8 months. He stated that some of the items inside the building were now outside, although all the doors had been locked.

There is a window above a locked door on the north side of the building and a table that had been pushed up against the outside of the door where people are getting in. Lieutenant O’Neal and Officer Seay cleared the building and located piles of human feces in the back walk-in cooler area.

Along with mats placed on the floor where people had been sleeping. As of right now, the owner stated that he isn’t sure if anything is missing as he hasn’t gone inside. He said he would board up the window, an extra patrol has been set up for all hours of the day and night for the next month. The officers advised the owner that the Police Department would ban anyone who was caught on the property without his permission.
