Homer Winford Gunter, age 88, of Rockwood, passed away Sunday, May 21st, 2017. He is survived by his wife: Hazel Gunter of Rockwood; daughters: Patricia Harvey of Kingston, Delores Lennon of Spring City, Wilma Thomas of Rockwood, Derita Lyles of Kingston and Karen Grant of Rockwood; son: McKinley Gunter of Rockwood; sisters: Nell Ivey of Loudon County and Victory Robinson of Sweetwater; sister-in-law: Wanda Rue; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and 1 due in two weeks. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 24th, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm at Evans Mortuary in Rockwood. Funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the chapel of Evans Mortuary. Concluding and interment services will be held Thursday May 25th, 2017 at 1 pm In Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood.
