The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident occurring in Clarkrange early today around 5:20 a.m. when a dump truck traveling down southbound Highway 127 struck 60-year-old Ester R. Dovel.

Dovel was walking into the truck’s travel lane out of a gas station parking lot at the intersection of Highway 127 and Highway 62 and was struck as the truck was making a right turn.

While the truck driver is unharmed, Dovel passed away from her injuries.

No charges are pending.
