DRUNK DRIVER ALMOST RUNS VEHICLES OFF ROAD

On Friday at approximately 6:43 p.m., Deputy John Coley received a phone call stating that a heavily intoxicated Shane Farr was actively trying to run her off the road on Taylors Chapel Rd. and Lantana Road. The caller said she was going to try and get Mr. Farr to meet her at the Tractor Supply parking lot and would text the deputy when he got there. At 7:01 p.m., Coley received a text message stating that Mr. Farr had arrived in the parking lot and was walking around outside of her car.
Farr was described as appearing drunk and “acting weird”. Coley immediately noticed Farr was unsteady on his feet while walking and smelled a strong order of alcohol on his person.
Farr stated that he had consumed several beers before arriving and that he was not operating the vehicle, he was dropped off by a cousin. However, upon further investigation and after getting sworn witness testimony, Deputy Coley determined that Farr was indeed the vehicle operator.
Farr consented to Standardized Field Sobriety testing but failed the tests.
Farr was placed under arrest for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence of alcohol and transported to the Cumberland County Jail for processing.
