ROCKWOOD WALMART FIRE UNDER INVESTIGATION

ROCKWOOD, Tenn. (WVLT) – Multiple agencies responded to a fire at the Walmart in Rockwood Friday night.

Witnesses inside the store told WVLT News that the fire was in the Garden Center and that flames were coming out of the roof.

Rockwood police and fire crews, Harriman fire crews, Roane County Sheriff’s Office and EMS were on scene.

The fire was out by 8:15 p.m. and no injuries were reported, according to EMA Director Tim Suter.

WVLT reached out to Walmart for comment who praised first responders.

“We’re grateful to local emergency crews for their quick response to the store Friday night,” Walmart officials said. “There were no injuries to associates or customers. We are currently closed and assessing building damage.”
