WHITE COUNTY SHERIFF AND TCAT PARTNER TO LAUNCH WORKFORCE DEV. PROGRAM

From the White County Sheriff’s office:
The White County Sheriff’s Office, under Sheriff Steve Page’s leadership, is committed to protecting life and property while fostering community trust and safety. In partnership with TCAT Upper Cumberland, the Sheriff’s Office is launching a pilot workforce development program at the White County Justice Center.
Using courses from the National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), this program provides industry-based training, trauma and substance abuse recovery, and workforce education to support successful re-entry after incarceration. Participants can earn credits toward certifications in fields such as automotive repair, HVAC, Welding, Industrial Maintenance, and Diesel Repair—all at no additional cost to White County taxpayers.
This initiative aims to reduce recidivism, enhance economic development, and support crime reduction, reinforcing the Sheriff’s Office’s mission to serve and strengthen the community. Currently, we have issued around 55 certificates to participants of the program.
