MAN ARRESTED AT SUPER 8 AFTER ASSAULTING FIRST RESPONDERS

On April 6, 2025, Officer Jessie Henson, along with Sptl. Steven McNeal and Sgt. Samantha Seay responded to a disturbance at the Super 8 hotel involving a male making sexual and rude comments to staff and guests. The hotel manager reported the incident, refunded the male’s payment, and requested he be banned from the property. The officers attempted to contact the male in room 104 by knocking, but he did not respond. After obtaining a master key from the manager, they found the door latched. Sptl. McNeal observed the male through a window, sitting on the bed smoking, but the male closed the blinds upon seeing him.

Using a tool provided by the manager, the officers entered the room with tasers drawn for safety. The male, identified as 37-year-old Nathan Robert Manis, was lying in bed and refused to show his hands or leave despite repeated commands informing him he was banned. When Officer Henson attempted to escort him out physically, the male resisted, rolling onto his stomach and tucking his hands underneath. During the struggle, he kicked Officer Henson twice in the groin. After several minutes, Sptl. McNeal delivered two forearm strikes to the male’s shoulder blade area, allowing Sgt. Seay and Officer Henson to handcuff him.

The male was escorted to a patrol vehicle and taken to the Cumberland County Justice Center, where he was identified as Nathan Robert Manis via his Tennessee driver’s license. Officer Henson issued and served warrants for criminal trespass, resisting arrest, and assault on first responders.
