On Monday, April 07, 2025, at approximately 6:09 a.m., firefighters from the Cumberland County Fire Department responded to a structure fire inside a garage at a home at 79 Towering Trail near Crossville. Crossville Fire Rescue crews assisted via mutual aid.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that 50% of the garage structure was engulfed in flames, with the fire having spread to four rooms, two bedrooms, and two more rooms located above the garage, all of which were severely damaged. Flames were visible through the roof when the crews arrived.

The fire’s cause remains under investigation. Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately three hours, successfully knocking it down despite numerous hot spots, according to the fire chief.

No injuries were reported.

The Red Cross was called to assist the displaced family, arranging temporary motel accommodations until their insurance could take effect.
