POLICE ARREST WOMAN FOR FALSE BOMB THREAT

On June 29, 2025, at around 1:28 AM, police responded to a bomb threat at Rumor’s Bar and Grill, reported by an anonymous caller who claimed a bomb would detonate in 30 minutes. The bar was evacuated, and after a safety check, no bomb was found.
The new owner reported prior threats and harassment from Angela Patterson, the former owner, who had left the business to the new owner and then worked as an employee before being fired for insubordination and had been demanding payments. Officer Chrystal Massey identified Patterson’s voice in the bomb threat call by comparing it to a prior recording.
A warrant was issued for Patterson for filing a false report. During questioning, Patterson denied making the call, suggesting it could have been her husband, and consented to a phone search, which revealed a text app and burner phone app.
She claimed these were used to investigate her husband’s infidelity. Patterson was arrested and taken to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
