According to a Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office report, on June 24, 2025, Cumberland County Deputies responded to a domestic assault incident at Shadberry Dr in Crossville. The victim reported being assaulted by her husband, Richard Lynn Nail, around 6:00 PM.

The victim exhibited signs of distress, with visible bruising on her right forearm and face. She stated that Richard threw her onto a couch and slapped her repeatedly during an attempt to take money and leave.

Deputy Leary observed redness on Richard’s knuckles, indicating possible recent physical contact. Richard was arrested for domestic assault, and taken to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office for booking.
